It seems like forever since I've had the luxury to put together a blog post without rushing, and without stressing out about getting it out to social media as fast as humanly possible! TBH it's kinda amazing! Now that wedding season has slowed down a little bit for that mid-season lull we've had some time to work on a few things. Nothing I can share yet, but in addition I've also been getting caught up on the editing back log which mean that today I get to share Michael and Emily's downtown session with you guys! I'm super excited about this one because it's something totally different for us! We typically shoot daytime, soft light, light and airy. Not this time though! Michael and Emily are planning a New Year's Eve wedding (literally my favorite holiday of the entire year) and wanted to incorporate that into their engagement session! So, for the first half of the session we got to rock or typical style in S Main and then, after dark, we got out the big boy lights (and Emily got out her sparkly dress) and we lit up the rooftop with all the New Year's goodness we could possibly muster up in the middle of the Memphis summer!
This session was so much fun to shoot partly because it was something different, but mostly because Michael and Emily are just great people to hang out with! We've unfortunately only gotten to hang out a couple of times but we already feel like we know them so well because they're just so open and inviting! Looking through their engagement photos you can tell how much they love to laugh and how much they love each other! Their wedding is definitely going to be AMAZING! We can't wait!
