I've always said I'd rather shoot in the cold than the heat. The cold is uncomfortable for sure and often comes with wind that just amplifies the bite in the cold, but heat is just miserable. With heat, on top of being sweaty and sticky for the rest of the day, the last thing clients want to do when they're melting is to cuddle - which I totally understand. Well, this weekend put my decision that cold was better than hot to the test. Even though I'm still working on de-chapping my lips cold still wins over hot. Partially because I didn't need to take a shower the second I got home, and partially because James and Marisa were very very willing to cuddle up and be cute to stay warm. Honestly though I think they probably would've done that even if it'd been 110 outside.
Right now James and Marisa are long distance. He's stationed out of state and she's finishing school here. Since weekends together are at a super premium for them right now they were almost a little giddy to just get to hang out together - which makes our job that much easier. They were super playful and affectionate all day. I know part of it is because they don't get to spend as much time together as they'd like, but I think it's also partially their personalities. They're just both really fun people. We've known that about Marisa since we sat down with her and her mom at Starbucks several months ago. She won us over immediately with her bubbly personality and never ending supply of hugs, but this was the first time we'd had a chance to meet James and we're so glad we did.
If being around one of them is good then being around both of them is great! Aleah and I had such a great time hanging out with them in two of our favorite spots in Memphis, Overton Square and Downtown on the river. I'm thrilled with how the day turned out and that James and Marisa's photos not only show how much fun they were having together but also how cute they are as a couple!
