It's not very often that I shoot by myself anymore. Back when we first started 3eight Photography it happened all the time. In the very beginning it was even the norm. Now though, it feels downright bizarre when Aleah isn't shooting with me. In spite of that though I absolutely loved Demian and Ashtyn's eshoot. Partially because of Demian and Ashtyn and how great they are and partially because of how spontaneous the whole thing was. It was just so easy. The whole thing started while Aleah and I were having coffee with our friend Emma from Infinity Events. She mentioned having friends coming into town for a couple days and thought it would be cool if we could do an engagement session while they were here. They're planning a destination wedding so it makes since to have different photographers for wedding and engagement. Sunday night I get a call from Ashtyn and we set up a shoot for the next morning. THE NEXT MORNING YOU GUYS!! You know what that mean? There was no chance to plan, which meant no childcare; therefore, no Aleah. Boo. Max is a great kid and all but he's two. Two year olds do not make good photography assistants.
So, Monday morning Demian, Ashtyn, and I met up at the Botanic Gardens. After a short existential crisis stemming from the need to leave my coffee behind we jumped in. It was a bit rainy but all in all it was perfect weather for shooting. Cool, overcast, awesome for August in Memphis. As we chatted and I got to know them they told me about their wedding plans. They're currently planning a Miami wedding for next year from their home in Arizona. I might be just the tiniest bit jealous of their Miami photographer but man I can't even imagine trying to plan and coordinate all that.
Ashtyn and Demian were so much fun to hang out with. Even though Aleah couldn't join us I had so much fun hanging out with these guys. Enjoy!
