If you follow our personal accounts on FB you may have seen Aleah's announcement this morning that she has officially joined 3eight Photography full time! It's super exciting and we couldn't be more thrilled that for 2017 and forever really there is no more juggling a day job and a passion. For a lot of 2016 it was a huge struggle, if I'm being honest. We had to say no to a lot of things and a lot of people that we really wanted to be able to say yes to. There were also weekends that just really took it out of us. Bridal show weekends were the worst. We loved meeting brides, hanging out with other vendors, and being right in the thick of something that we love so much but everything surrounding it like setup and tear down kinda sent our lives and our poor house into chaos for a few weeks on either side. If it wasn't for the amazing brides we got to meet at the show it wouldn't have been worth it. Rozzanne was one of those brides. We met Rozzanne last August at The Pink Bride show. I remember her stopping in our booth, us chatting, and me being a little surprised that she was willing to give us her contact info. She was so quiet I was sure she thought we were a bad fit for her. I was super excited though when I looked at the contact info and she said she would be excited for us to shoot her wedding! Fast forward a couple weeks and we were sitting down with her and Neil and talking wedding photography. Not long at all into that conversation I'd switched from "gosh I don't understand why she wants to meet with us" to "gosh I hope they book us because they're amazing!"
Neil and Rozzanne are so sweet and so sincere. What they aren't though is loud or overly outgoing so we knew that shooting downtown we would need to find a quiet spot. I have a tendency to be super loud, so if the place is also super loud I was afraid it could be a bit much. Thankfully one of my favorite downtown spots for a quiet shoot was also one of Neil and Rozzanne's favorites. Rozzanne specifically mentioned the Arcade Restaurant when we started talking about engagement photos and I was over the moon! Some of my favorite engagement photos I've ever taken have come from this intersection! We had such a blast shooting with them and they were so natural it turned out to be one of those sessions where I had to make sure to keep an eye on the clock so we didn't accidentally spend too much time in the first spot and never make it to their second location.
Both fortunately and unfortunately though we never did make it to that second location I had in mind. After a quick outfit change the plan was to head up to a cute vintagy spot I had in mind on Front St. As we started walking the weather started turning and we had to make a quick decision to choose a new second location. It turned out to be a perfect second spot though so I'm totally fine with it. Normally this is where I would tell you all about the rain and what we did but I've actually decided I'm going to hold that for a second post next week so be sure to check that out. We love how this turned out despite the rain and can't wait for Neil and Rozzanne's wedding this fall at Cedar Hall!
